John "Jack" Hynds was born, raised and has lived his entire life in Morris. Jack graduated from Immaculate Conception School, Morris Community High School, the University of Notre Dame (Magna cum Laude), and Northwestern University Law School. Although he works full time, he divides his time between his home in Morris and Breckenridge, Colorado. During his time in Colorado, Jack works closely with other attorneys and staff members in the firm to serve his clients.

Since 1965, Jack has been very active in local civic affairs. He has served on boards of the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce, Grundy County Economic Development, Morris Downtown Development Partnership, Morris Hospital Foundation, Immaculate Conception Church, Morris Elementary School District #54, United Fund, Morris Country Club, Morris Library, Morris Hospital, and First National Bank of Coal City. He is the legal advisor to the Community Foundation of Grundy County and chairs its Teaching Inspired Philanthropy Committee.

Jack is active in real estate development. He is co-owner of Advantage Realty, Inc., a local real estate company, and its subsidiary Advantage Property Management. He has developed numerous residential subdivisions, constructed apartment buildings in four communities, and was involved in the construction of commercial buildings in Morris.
